Karla Baker
Parent Liaison, Region 4 Statewide Parent Collaboration Group Advisory Committee

Karla Baker is the mother of four children and one grandchild. Today, Ms. Baker is a passionate advocate for parents and families in her community.  She supports parents in finding their voices through education and training. As a Parent Liaison for Region 4 who works with parents and CPS to help facilitate the relationship between the two, Ms. Baker knows that improving the relationship between parents and CPS can do nothing but increase the successful reunification rate of families.

Ms. Baker has been an active member of the Statewide Parent Collaboration Group Advisory Committee and regional Parent Support Group since Fall of 2018.  This group is a partnership between the Department of Family and Protective Services and parents who have been recipients of services from child protective services. In addition, to her duties for her regional Parent Support Group, Ms. Baker helps lead weekly Call 2 Recovery groups and is involved with the Brownsboro Youth Football Foundation as their Fundraising Coordinator. Ms. Baker is also a member of the Birth Parent National Network (BPNN) and is enrolled in Tyler Junior College’s Addiction Counseling program.
